GAMES · POP CULTURE · GOOD FINDS

Come for the games.
Stay for the tangent.

Hey, I’m Abdoulaye. I love finding a game that makes me stop and go, “Wait, how did they pull that off?” Then I usually want to tell someone about it. That’s a big part of why Quills exists.

WHAT YOU’LL FIND HERE

Play. Think.
Share the good stuff.

Sometimes it’s a game, sometimes it’s a film or a manga. And sometimes it’s a tiny detail I’ve spent far too long thinking about.

01 / PLAY

Games & good company

Discovering worlds, playing with friends and finding those moments that stay in your head long after the game is off.

02 / THINK

A designer’s curiosity

Why does one game just feel better to play, even when you can’t quite explain it? I studied game design, so I can’t help poking around for an answer.

03 / SHARE

Cool things deserve attention

Indie games, manga, films, interesting ideas. If something gets me excited, I’d rather tell you what makes it cool than start another argument for the timeline.

BEHIND THE PLAYER

A little context
for how I see games.

From learning to build games to helping a team make one, my experiences have given me a few more reasons to look under the hood.

GAME DESIGN & CREATIVE CODING

From playing games to making them.

Game designUnityCreative coding

I studied Game Design & Creative Coding at e-artsup in Lille, exploring game mechanics and making projects in Unity. It gave me a different way to look at games, from the big ideas down to the little details.

RECOLLECTION · STUDENT PROJECT

Eight people. One game to build.

ProductionGame designTeam of 8

I was the producer on Recollection, a student game made by a team of eight. Alongside planning and QA coordination, I worked on the design and programming of its memory bias system: the world changes according to the person remembering it.

FRENCH LOCALISATION QA

The details matter.

Game QALocalisation

At PTW, now Side, I tested French localisation in game builds, reported issues and checked fixes. It taught me to pay attention to the details that shape a player’s experience.

THE PERSON BEHIND QUILLS

Hi, I’m
Abdoulaye.

Game design background.
Production mindset.
Always up for a good tangent.

I didn’t take the straightest route into games. I studied law, worked in legal support in Luxembourg, then went back to study Game Design & Creative Coding in Lille. I wanted to get closer to making games.

Producing Recollection showed me how much I enjoy bringing people together around a creative project. Since then I’ve worked in game QA and in studio operations.

Quills is where all of that meets: games I love, people doing interesting things, and whatever question has been living rent-free in my head that week.
